Good-bye Mrs. Dandino
by Jacqueline B.
Sadly, Devonshire kindergarten teacher Mrs. Natalie Dandino will be retiring at the end of this school year. This reporter had the pleasure of interviewing her in January.
Q: Do you like your job?
A: I LOVE my job!
Q: How has your job affected your life?
A: It affects my life by how much time it takes and how much patience and flexibility.
Q: If you weren't a teacher, what would you be?
A: A travel consultant.
Q: What is your plan after retirement?
A: I will substitute teach and do volunteer work.
Q: How many years have you been teaching?
A: 28 years.
Q: What was your favorite year of teaching?
A: Kindergarten.
Q: What was your favorite thing about teaching?
A: The students' excitement!
Q: Who were your star students?
A: All students!
Q: What grade did you first teach?
A: First grade--my first year of teaching.
Q: What was your first job?
A: I worked at a travel company.
Q: What are you looking forward to?
A: Coming to Devonshire to substitute.
Q: Why did you choose to retire?
A: So I could do other things.

A: Because I love children, I get along with them so well, and I love seeing the excitement on their faces!
Q: Will you travel?
A: Yes.
Q: What will you do in your free time?
A: I will probably read, travel, sleep in late, . . .
